Job summary An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated orthoptic assistant to join our team of 10 orthoptists and 3 optometrists. The post holder will undertake a varied role in aspects of orthoptics, including assessment of children and adults in both hospital and community clinics. Full training for the role will be given. The post is for 27 hours weekly. We require a highly motivated and flexible person to undertake this varied role. An excellent team worker is essential along with the desire to undertake continuing professional development. Main duties of the job The post-holder will participate in the delivery of care to patients in the Orthoptic Department as directed by the qualified orthoptist. The post-holder will contribute to the smooth running of the clinics and co-ordination of patients as directed by the qualified orthoptic, medical and nursing staff.
