Leicestershire County Council's in-house Legal Services has an exciting opportunity for a contracts lawyer to join its friendly, supportive and experienced Contracts, Procurement and Commercial Team based at County Hall, Glenfield on a permanent contract.
Eligible candidates should have qualified as solicitors, barristers, or legal executives and possess relevant experience in contract law and a good knowledge of procurement law.

About the Role
The primary purpose of the job is to assist in the provision of an efficient and effective legal advice service to all service departments and Committees together with any third party organisation or party with which the Council has an arrangement to provide legal services in relation to non-contentious commercial, company, partnership, contract and procurement matters.
About You
To apply for this post, you must:
* Currently qualified as a Solicitor or Barrister or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.
* Experience of working in a legal environment, either in the private or public sector.
* Experience in non-standard contract, procurement, and commercial work, including drafting original documentation not wholly reliant upon precedents, knowledge of purchasing and tendering regimes and Procurement Legislation, and providing advice to officers of other departments up to management level.
* The ability to communicate effectively with members and officers; to assimilate information rapidly and present it orally or in writing clearly, unambiguously and concisely.
* Must be able to use IT-based systems.
* The ability to work under pressure with limited supervision, addressing new legislative developments. Must be reliable and have the ability to work to deadlines.
* Must show a flexible approach and be able to work as part of a team. Possession of a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle. However, a reasonable adjustment will be considered for an applicant with a disability.
