Job Title: Social Worker (Social and Healthcare Qualified)

Hours Per Week: 37 hours
Role Responsibilities:
Case Management: Independently manage a caseload of complex and contentious cases, ensuring the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of Child in Need Plans to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
Leadership & Mentoring: Provide direct line management for social workers (up to Level 2). Offer support and guidance to less experienced team members, including case management advice, professional development, and informal mentoring.
Court Involvement: Prepare statements/applications for Family Court submissions, represent Children's Services in Court when necessary, and advocate for children's welfare during proceedings and statutory panels.
Direct Work with Children and Families: Carry out direct work with children, young people, and families, taking into account their wishes and feelings, and promoting resilience to reduce dependence on services.
Statutory Functions: Fulfill NELC's statutory duties regarding children in need and looked-after children, ensuring the timely and effective closure of cases when appropriate.
Safeguarding Action: Take necessary statutory actions, including in emergency situations, to ensure the safety of children, collaborating with other agencies as required.Education and Training Requirements:
Social Work Qualification: A recognized qualification in Social Work, such as a Masters in Social Work, Social Work BA/BSc, MSc, PG Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW.
HCPC Registration: Registered as a Social Worker with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Practice Educator: Ability to act as, or be prepared to work towards, becoming a Practice Educator (Stage 2) to support the development of student social workers.
