We are delighted to be working exclusively with our client based in Northampton, who are seeking an Accounts Assistant to provide additional support within their finance team. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has experience within a finance department, and thrives as part of a small, friendly team. It is easily accessible by public transport. Key Responsibilities: Processing purchase orders, invoices, and credit notes. Reviewing and issuing sales invoices, with some credit control activities. Preparing BACS payment runs. Handling cash transactions and banking imports. Supporting with daily bank reconciliations. Inputting payroll data and assisting with a system migration. Providing holiday and sickness cover within the team. Assisting with month-end processes, including accruals and prepayments. Supporting financial reporting, audits, and contract settlements. The Candidate: You will have previous experience working in an accounting role, with a strong understanding of sales and purchase ledger processes. A keen eye for detail, excellent numerical skills, and the ability to work accurately and efficiently are essential. You should be comfortable working independently as well as being a proactive and supportive member of a small team. Strong communication skills and a friendly, adaptable approach will ensure you fit in well with this welcoming and collaborative working environment.
