Apprentice Assistant Zoo Keeper – Join Our Team at Sewerby Zoo!
Are you passionate about animals and looking to kick-start a career in zoo keeping?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team at Sewerby Zoo as an Apprentice Assistant Zoo Keeper!
About the Role
As part of this exciting apprenticeship opportunity, you will:
1. Work towards achieving the Level 2 Animal Care and Welfare Apprenticeship Standard.
2. Attend Bishop Burton College 1 day per week (term time).
3. Assist with daily animal care, including feeding, cleaning, and enrichment.
4. Assist the keeper team with workshops and keeper talks at daily feeding times and participate in visitor engagement.
5. Help maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of zoo areas.
6. Support the health and wellbeing of a variety of animals.
7. Work under the guidance of experienced zoo professionals.

4. Communicates effectively with both colleagues and visitors.
