The successful candidate will join our diversified team ofpharmacists, pharmacist prescribers, pharmacy technicians and prescription clerks as well as having the opportunity for multi-disciplinary working with other departments within the practice. The pharmacy team drive the focus on reducing some of the burdens placed on the GPs by promoting the electronic repeat dispensing service, reducing inappropriate polypharmacy and wasteful prescribing through medication reviews, working with the complex care team to review care home patients, increasing safety mechanisms through audits, implementing drug withdrawals and alerts, and contributing to reductions in medication related hospital admissions and re-admissions by supporting patients to get the best outcome from their medicines. In addition to the day-to-day duties, the successful candidate will be trained to oversee the anticoagulation service and will also be encouraged to develop in another clinical area of interest. They will also be expected to be proactive, flexible, possess good time management skills and be able to prioritise workload.
