Job Description
Working at one of the newest of HMP initially and then transition into the wider Prison Education Training Academy Team, you will provide high-quality training and development programmes to your prison colleagues.
Offering qualifications in AET level 3, CET level 4 and TAQA level 3&4, you will be responsible for delivering first-class training sessions, planning for individual needs and ensuring that your learners (colleagues) are able to complete and achieve. You will be ensuring that our prison colleagues are providing training in their areas that is in line with the new Ofsted framework.
* Training Delivery: Provide comprehensive teacher training for the TAQA level 3&4, AET level 3 and CET Level 4. Achieve minimum KPIs of 90% retention, completion and achievement. Register learners timely and accurately. Ensure that the training environment and assessment process are free from discrimination and are inclusive; all learners know their rights and responsibilities in terms of equal opportunities. Embed throughout the learner journey Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values.
* Induction Programmes: Develop and implement effective induction programmes for new staff, ensuring they meet the specific needs of the business, prison environment, and new colleagues.
* Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor the progress and performance of trainees, providing constructive feedback and support in a timely manner. Ensure that learner evaluative feedback is collected and recorded after each session and reviewed to support continuous improvement.
* Curriculum Development: Collaborate with educational and prison staff to develop and update training materials and curricula to ensure they are inclusive, relevant and effective and meet AO criteria.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure all training programmes meet the required standards and regulations, maintaining high levels of quality and compliance. Attend and prepare all documentation and evidence for External Quality Assurance Visits.
* Support and Mentorship: Provide ongoing support and mentorship to trainees, helping them to achieve their qualifications and develop their professional skills.
* Collaboration: Work closely with prison staff, management, and external partners to ensure the smooth delivery of training programmes and address any challenges that arise.
* Continuous Professional Development (CPD): Encourage and facilitate CPD opportunities for staff, ensuring they remain up to date with the latest educational practices and standards as well as undertaking own CPD and maintaining own CPD record.
* Reporting: Maintain accurate records of training activities, assessments, and outcomes, and provide regular reports to management.
* Processes & Procedures: Ensure that all company processes and procedures are adhered to, and paperwork and systems are updated and maintained in line with minimum service standards.
