Part Time – 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 0830am – 1500pm
£12.11 - £13.15 per hour
Band 2 - Salary Range £23,362 - £25,368 per annum (pro rata)
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,256 per annum (pro rata)

We are looking for people who share our team-working ethos and who have a keen interested in catering. With a good level of basic education and good communication skills, you will need to be able to follow instructions so you can take part in the initial training and induction, which takes place when you start. From there, your manager and colleagues will give you the support you need while you complete your on the job training. Working from the cafe at the Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick, duties will include serving food, washing up and cleaning, stock take & rotation, basic food prep.
The work you do in the Catering team will be essential to the smooth running of the Health Service in Shetland; you will be a valued member of the team and may have the opportunity to develop skills in other areas of the facilities team if you wish, such as domestic, catering or laundry. Hours of work for this post will be day shifts on a rota system, with occasional early starts 8am. The latest finish time is 3pm and there will be occasional weekend absence cover.
