Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Salary: Up to GBP50,000 + Package

My client is a growing T1 contractor who work on some of the UKs largest infrastructure projects and clients.
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial support to project teams, maintaining commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and the Companys objectives. You will also liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues including agreement of variations, claims and any additional payments.

Key responsibilities:
* Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level
* Ensure accurate cash flow reporting takes place
* Carry out cost management including forecasting
* Update the monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans
* Help ensure that internal commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit
* Actively seek to improve processes and procedures
* Hold a good understanding of the processes and procedures used by any JV/Alliance that we are working within, and assist in their development and improvement
* Help ensure that any main contracts entered into have terms and conditions that are appropriate with commercial risks identified
* Ensure that the supply chain is engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions
* Build and maintain good client relationships
* Be responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting
* Prepare applications for payment
* Liaise with the client, client representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims and additional payments
* Contribute towards effective interaction between the Commercial Team and the operational site team
* Work with site management to forecast predicted spend and cash recovery and ensure that both are kept in line with the target
* Share best practices with others and be proactive in advising site teams on costs and management of them
* Ability to challenge resources and costs
* Maintain deadlines in line with the monthly commercial calendar
What We Are Looking For
Essential:
* Full driving licence
* Previous experience in the construction industry
* HND/degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
* Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract and knowledge and understanding of Construction Law
* Previous experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates, and accruals calculations.
* Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
* Have knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis.
* Excellent communication, numeric and computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
* Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines
Desired:
* Degree:qualified or equivalent, or with relevant experience and knowledge.
* Experience in the water sector
* CSCS card holder.
