Role Overview: My client is seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Cashier to join their finance team in St Albans. This role is crucial to the smooth financial operations of the firm, ensuring compliance with legal accounting regulations and providing support to our legal professionals. Key Responsibilities: Processing client and office account transactions accurately and efficiently. Conducting daily bank reconciliations and managing petty cash. Ensuring compliance with SAR (Solicitors Accounts Rules) and other legal financial regulations. Handling billing processes, including preparing bills and liaising with fee earners. Managing electronic payments and bank transfers. Assisting with month-end and year-end financial procedures. Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers. Responding to finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders. Contributing to the development and improvement of financial procedures within the firm. Requirements Proven experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm environment. Sound knowledge of SAR and legal accounting practices. Proficiency in using legal accounting software (e.g., SOS Connect, Elite 3E, ProLaw). Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines. Requirements
Previous experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm is essential. Solid understanding of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules. Strong knowledge of legal accounting software Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
