Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) Location: Waterlooville Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour [Depending on experience] Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time Your Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with students, providing them with the tailored assistance they need to engage fully in their education. You will play an integral role in creating a positive and encouraging learning environment that supports both academic and personal growth. Key Responsibilities: Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, delivering personalised support to meet individual needs. Assist in adapting classroom materials and activities to ensure accessibility for all students. Provide emotional and behavioural support to help students develop resilience and confidence. Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) effectively. Monitor and document student progress, sharing observations with the teaching team and parents where appropriate. Support students during non-classroom activities, including breaks, lunchtimes, and extracurricular events. What We’re Looking For: We are looking for someone who is committed to creating an inclusive and nurturing environment for students with SEN. The ideal candidate will have: Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is desirable but not essential. An understanding of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others. A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting children with diverse needs. Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, are an advantage but not mandatory. Why Join GSL Education?
