Technical Specialist (Cloud Development Engineer)

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Cloud Development Engineer to join our Engineering Faculty Technical Services team. The successful candidate will work within our newly established Digital Services Team, dedicated to supporting the university’s mission to foster innovation in teaching, learning, and research through cutting-edge cloud technologies.
As a Senior Cloud Development Engineer, you will be at the forefront of the faculties’ digital projects, working closely with researchers, lecturers, and students to bring their ideas to life through new and exciting technologies and platforms. You’ll help design, develop, and deploy custom solutions and services for our team that address the unique needs of academic projects and teaching, ranging from cloud platform pilots, advanced data analysis tools for research to innovative educational applications for students. Your breadth of coding and technology skills will be put to use as you create automation scripts, develop bespoke applications, help implement DevOps practices and tools, and integrate various cloud services to enhance productivity and streamline workflows.
What will you be doing?
* You will shape the way that Technical Services help the faculty leverage cloud and key development technologies to empower researchers and students, enhancing their ability to innovate and collaborate on complex projects involving new technologies, development, DevOps, and SysOps.
* You will work closely with leading academics and research teams, providing the technical expertise needed to develop cutting-edge solutions that support groundbreaking research and advanced teaching methodologies.
* You will play a key role in the operational delivery of cloud-based services, providing specialist support to students and researchers while also contributing to the strategic direction and creative design of technology-driven research and learning initiatives.
