YOUR ROLE
Following an exciting internal promotion, we're looking for a dynamic and motivated First Line Manager to lead day-to-day operations within one of our specialist teams (Hazardous products). In this key role, you'll collaborate closely with Team Leaders, guiding and supporting a diverse group of operatives, administrators, and leaders to ensure smooth operations and exceptional performance. Based at our Donnington (Telford) site, this role is a vital part of our contract logistics division. It offers the perfect opportunity to not only apply your expertise but also grow and advance with us as the business evolves.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
* As the first line manager based within our hazardous products stores, you will be conducting management, team and line manager briefings to ensure the team are fully aware of activities
* Managing the team will also include undertaking Absence and discipline management activities as required
* Using your skills to mentor/coach staff and support peers and develop the team through the completion of Conduct Performance Plans and Reviews (PPRs), to ensure succession planning/talent management is in place.
* You will be an Ambassador for Quality and actively participate in continuous quality improvements, including driving changes in quality gates and culture.
* To ensure the warehouse is delivering against customer requirements you will undertake effective Resource Utilisation, Planning and Management activities as required.
* Responsible for effective and efficient Operational Area Management as applicable and as required.
* Ensuring compliance of the operation to the Quality systems, industry standards and legal requirements
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
* Logistics management experience in a large fast moving environment
* Understanding of warehouse practices e.g. picking, loading
* Dangerous goods regulation trained (IATA/ADR/IMDG/SEA&ROAD) would be advantageous
* Drive, determination and a track record in delivering continuous improvement
* Ability to influence, negotiate and deal with conflict successfully
