About the Team:
This team supports young people aged 14 and over who are looked after by the Local Authority, ranging from young people who are homeless aged 16 or 17 to all care leavers up to the age of 25 years. You can also expect to support Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children.
Workers in this team form longer-term relationships with young people and those who are important to them to help them achieve their goals. They assist families in a purposeful manner and manage risk confidently. Workers here are able to be kind, consistent, and focused in their work with children, young people, and families.
Workers hold a mixed and varied caseload, allocated according to post-qualifying skills and experience. Focused on the best interests of children, you’ll be supported to produce clear evidence-based assessments that inform effective plans.
You will have good support in a permanently staffed stable team. You will be able to work from the Vale of Glamorgan and visit young people who live within the Vale as well as those who live out of county.
Minimum Requirements:
As this is a statutory role, you will require a social work qualification & registration to Social Work Wales.
