An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic individual interested in Dermatology nursing:
Although previous dermatology experience is desirable many of the role can be undertaken with support and Guidance from the senior nursing team within the department.
You will be expected to be able to carry out Triage assessment in tele-dermatology, support clinicians both nursing and medical in face-to-face clinics and to assist in the minor operation lists that we run in our department.
You will also work within the Chronic disease service supporting patients who are living with chronic skin diseases
Knowledge of inflammatory skin conditions and skin minor surgery can be developed supported through in house training.
• To provide high quality, individualised nursing care to patients and their parents/carers through working as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.
• Run tele dermatology assessment clinics using IT, dermoscopy and digital images
• To develop clinical and managerial skills by taking charge of the department in the absence of the department Manager or the deputy.
• To contribute to the supervision, assessment and education/development of ward staff and students.
• To contribute to the continuing development of nursing practice through research and audit.
• To support the delivery of Dermatology and Plastic Surgery Service
• Working under the direction of a specialist (e.g. senior clinical nurse specialist/medical consultant.)
