Family Action is a registered charity, building stronger families since 1869. Today we work with more than 60,000 families in over 150 community-based services, as well as supporting thousands more through national programmes and grants. We transform lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation.
Are you an excellent leader with experience of working with children and families affected by domestic abuse? We are looking for a Senior Practitioner to support in leading a service that supports children and families whose lives have been impacted by domestic abuse in the Bradford district.
Survive & Thrive’s Integrated Children’s Service delivers support to children and families and we are looking for a senior practitioner to oversee work with children and young people, focusing on the reduction of trauma symptoms and rebuilding of relationships affected by domestic abuse.
Your impact:
You will achieve positive outcomes with children and young people, supporting them to overcome the negative effects of Domestic Abuse related trauma, enabling them to function better in their daily lives, and experience a brighter future. In addition, parents, carers and professionals will understand more about the impact of domestic abuse on affected children and ways in which they can support.
You will join an established, supportive and positive team passionate about delivering high quality innovative services with a strong commitment to continuous learning and development.
Main Requirements:
* You will have experience of working directly with children, young people and their families where there has been domestic abuse.
* You will have an understanding and experience of systemic and trauma informed approaches to working with children and families.
* You will have experience of leadership and line management.
* You will have experience of safeguarding risk assessment, identifying safeguarding concerns, and supporting a team in doing the same.
We are forward looking, ambitious and committed to continuous improvement. We are a people-focused, can-do organisation, which strives for excellence in all we do and operates with mutual respect.
