What you would do as a Mental Health Support Worker:
The role primarily involves supporting students in the classroom with their mental health. These students face challenges in processing and regulating their emotions due to childhood trauma, leading to stress, anxiety, and depression. You will assist them in managing these emotions while shadowing the class teacher and providing support with general classroom duties.
The successful Mental Health Support Worker:
The successful candidate will be open-minded, resilient, confident, and determined to help others. Flexibility is essential to adapt your role to fit the needs of each child. Previous experience working with children with mental health needs is desirable but not essential; a positive attitude and a passion for making a difference are most important.
This position offers valuable and rewarding experience, exposing you to various teaching methods and techniques to assist children with mental health needs. You will also have the opportunity to shadow other professionals in the field and explore different specialties.
