AGR Renewables is a leading renewable energy developer and asset management business headquartered in London, focusing on the UK and Italian markets. We specialise in the development, construction, and operation of low-carbon energy projects and infrastructure, having developed over £1 billion worth of assets across wind, solar, gas peaking power plants, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and low-carbon industrial-scale glasshouses.
AGR is part owned and funded by Railpen, a pension investment fund of around £34 billion in assets for the 350,000 members of the railways pension schemes, one of the UKs largest and longest established pension funds.
AGR is looking to add a Property Contract Manager to our team on a full-time, permanent basis at our London office. The successful candidate will be working as part of the existing AGR development team to advance our pipeline of projects through the planning process and support the identification of new opportunities in the renewables and energy sector generally. The role will report to the Project Development Director.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the property aspects of new project origination.
* Act as the primary point of contact with project landowners across multiple projects and technology types.
* Lead the negotiation of Heads of Terms (HOTs) with prospective project landowners and their agents.
* Managing communications and relationships with landowners, agents and their legal representatives.
* Lead the commercial negotiation of Option to Lease agreements, Option to Purchase agreements, easements, wayleaves, and crossing agreements.
* Manage external solicitor firms handling documents in negotiation.
* Manage AGRs ongoing commitments in executed agreements.
* Updating internal and external stakeholders on works in progress including budgetary reporting responsibilities
Skills & Qualifications:
* 2 to 5 years of prior work experience in relevant sector
* Strong understanding of commercial and legal aspects of Option to Lease agreements, Option to Purchase agreements, easements, wayleaves, and crossing agreements.
* Understanding of the renewable project development process.
* Experience negotiating land agreements for renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
* Familiarity with the planning process for energy projects.
* Excellent relationship building skills and stakeholder management.
* Proficient in using Google Earth Pro.
* Strong professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting complex ideas concisely.
* Strong work ethic, ambition, and objective-driven mindset.
* Demonstrated academic excellence.
* RICS accredited is beneficial but not essential
* Ambitious candidate looking to develop into a lead role
