We are looking for a Service Engineer to work for a Communications & Technology solutions provider in the Southern Regions of England based in Hampshire Client profile A provider of communication and security technology solutions. They specialise in system design, supply, installation, and aftersales support for organisations throughout the UK. Job role Our client has a new vacancy for a Service Engineer within their in-house technical support team, this is a fundamental role within the organisation. Daily tasks will include supporting the company’s sales team and our diverse customer base that ranges from small businesses to large global organisations. The post will encompass the full delivery of radio communication, body worn camera and “Evolv” Weapon Threat Detection systems, along with other complimentary security and technology products. This will incorporate supporting sales team colleagues at initial enquiry stage and with equipment demonstrations, delivery of products and services, and ongoing maintenance and support post commissioning. In addition to b2b sales, the client also provides short term hire systems and support services to large festivals and sporting events, which will require an element of flexible working during the week and weekends. The role will include installation, maintenance, and support of their full product portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding business offering customers off the shelf and bespoke communications, security, and threat detection systems. Responsibilities Initial site surveys / preventative maintenance inspections (PMI). Documenting results & producing reports for site surveys & PMI Reports. Assisting sales staff with technical quotes & product support. Design, build, Factory Acceptance Testing, installation & commissioning of new systems. Documenting system notes post installation. First line support to customers – remote technical support (Phone / PC). Servicing and routine maintenance of customers equipment. Bench repairs – customer & owned assets. Equipment configuration – all technologies. Installations – static & mobile. Provide on-site technical support at events (including weekends and Bank Holidays). Join the call out rota to provide 24hr 365 day call out support for contract customers. Support northern regional office when required. It is anticipated that the role will be focused on our southern customer base, however, on occasions you will be required to assist the team in supporting our clients in the northern region Requirements The successful candidate is likely to have the following qualities: - Hard working, initiative taker. Customer service focused. Valid UK driving license. Security Clearance desirable but not essential. Knowledge and experience working with RF devices. Fundamental IT network knowledge desirable. Knowledge and experience of working on large projects with tight deadlines. Self-motivated and able to learn new skills as the job requires. Prepared to work away from home for short periods. Good attention to detail. Good written and verbal communications skills. Knowledge of the following manufacturers’ equipment would Work Schedule Flexible working hours are required, with an expectation to work weekends and evenings supporting events if required. Working days may vary each week based upon business needs. The role will require a minimum 40-hour working week, additional working hours will attract an overtime rate of time plus a half.
