We are seeking an HR Assistant for a maternity cover position at a well-established organisation on the outskirts of Scarborough. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, with a salary of £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience. The Role This is a hands-on HR role with a strong focus on HR administration, employee relations (ER) casework, and providing HR support via calls and emails. Key responsibilities include: Managing contracts, appraisals, and general HR documentation Providing advice and guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment law Handling employee relations (ER) cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance issues Supporting recruitment and onboarding, including issuing contracts and processing new starter paperwork Assisting with HR reporting, data management, and compliance Supporting line managers with HR best practices and day-to-day people management Advising on performance management, appraisals, and training and development Keeping up to date with employment law changes and HR trends What We’re Looking For Must-haves: Experience handling contracts, appraisals, and ER casework CIPD Level 3 or 5 (or equivalent HR experience) Strong administrative skills and attention to detail Available for an immediate start You’ll be joining a supportive and knowledgeable HR team, working alongside experienced HR professionals.
