Overview: Compass Associates are proud to be partnering with a leading provider in the healthcare sector to recruit a Business Development Manager. The role will focus on expanding secure mental health and complex care services, with a particular emphasis on building relationships with NHS Trusts, Local Authorities, and independent healthcare providers. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing organisation that specialises in patient-centric services, with a clear aim to expand across the Midlands region.
The Role: The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in developing and executing strategic sales plans, identifying new business opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders. This hybrid-based role involves regular travel across the Midlands, visiting clients, attending industry events, and ensuring the continued growth of the organisation. You will collaborate closely with operational teams to ensure that new partnerships align with the company’s strategic objectives.
The Candidate: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development within the healthcare or social care sectors, with proven experience in managing relationships with NHS commissioners, local authorities, or similar. You will be confident in presenting patient-centric solutions and negotiating with senior stakeholders. A deep understanding of the healthcare market, particularly in mental health or complex care, is essential for success in this role.

* Strong understanding of the mental health and complex care sectors.
* Experience building relationships with NHS Trusts, Local Authorities, and independent providers.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a focus on client-focused solutions.
* Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel independently.
Preferred Criteria:
* Previous experience in commissioning or account management within the healthcare sector.
* Established network of contacts in the mental health or healthcare industry.
Interview Process: There will be a two-stage interview process:
* An informal Teams call with the hiring manager.
* A formal interview with a panel (TBC).
