We're recruiting for a Head of Logistics tojoin the team! This role can be based from anywhere in theUK.
The Head of Logistics andFleet Management is responsible for the strategic oversight andoperational management of the organisation's logistics and fleetoperations. This role ensures the efficient and cost-effectivemovement of goods and the optimal performance of the fleet,supporting the company's operational and customer serviceobjectives.
You'll lead a team of professionals to drivecontinuous improvement, ensure compliance with regulations, andfoster strong relationships with internal and externalstakeholders.
Reporting into theDirector of Smart Metering
Whatyou'll be doing:
* Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on logistics and fleetperformance to senior leadership.
* StrategicLeadership: Develop and implementlogistics and fleet management strategies aligned with thecompany's overall objectives.
* TeamManagement: Lead, mentor, anddevelop the logistics and fleet management team, promoting aculture of excellence and continuousimprovement.
* OperationalOversight: Ensure the efficientoperation of logistics and fleet activities, including routeplanning, scheduling, and dispatching.
* FleetManagement: Coordinate with MGSFleet & Transport to oversee the maintenance, repair, andreplacement of fleet vehicles to ensure optimal performance andcompliance with safety standards.
* VendorManagement: Manage relationshipswith MGS & other third-party logistics providers, maintenancesuppliers, and other key partners.
* CostControl: Monitor and controllogistics and fleet expenses, identifying opportunities for costsavings and efficiency improvements.
* PerformanceMonitoring: Track and analyse keyperformance metrics, implementing corrective actions as necessaryto achieve targets.
* RiskManagement: Identify and mitigaterisks related to logistics and fleet operations, ensuring businesscontinuity.
* RegulatoryCompliance: Ensure compliance withall relevant regulations and standards, including health and safetyand environmental requirements.
* TechnologyIntegration: Leverage technology andsystems to enhance logistics and fleet operations, improvingvisibility, control, and efficiency.
What we need fromyou:
* A minimum of 5 years seniormanagement experience, ideally in the Utilities/Metering Sector
* Demonstrated experience inleading and managing large logistics and fleet operationsteams.
* Exceptional written andverbal communication skills, with the ability to influence andpersuade stakeholders.
* Strongunderstanding of financial management related to logistics andfleet operations, including budgeting and costcontrol.
* Abilityto analyse complex data and make informed decisions to driveoperational improvements.
* Proven problem-solving skills with the ability toaddress and resolve operational challengeseffectively.
* Advanced proficiency in logistics and fleetmanagement software, as well as Microsoft OfficeSuite.
* Strong understanding ofcustomer needs and a commitment to delivering high levels ofservice.
* Effective team player with strong leadership skillsand the ability to foster a collaborative teamenvironment.
* Abilityto operate effectively in a matrix environment, coordinatingactivities across multiple teams andfunction
