Purpose of the role
To deliver a timely and reliable financial accounting service, through upload and eliminations within the Comet system, and to provide accurate reporting and analysis from the Comet system. To support the Senior Financial Accountant in preparation of statutory accounts on a timely basis, responding to auditor queries, support for the VAT returns for the UK Companies and completion of actions relating to internal controls.
Key Accountabilities
1. Delivery of consolidated group accounts.
2. Delivery of forecast & plan data.
3. Suggest and implement process improvement in reporting tools and processes.
4. Take full ownership for processes and outputs in assigned functional reporting.
5. To complete full reconciliations of balance sheets for your area of responsibility.
6. Any other reasonable tasks as determined by line manager.
Skills/Experience
1. Experience working in an accounting environment.
2. Knowledge of financial systems.
3. Strong work ethic.
4. Desire to take ownership and responsibility for tasks.
5. Strong communication skills.
6. Good Excel skills.
7. Comet knowledge advantageous.
8. Working towards ACCA or similar accounting qualification.
Education / Qualification
1. Part qualified accountant.
