Network Systems Administrator Corby £45,000 Days (Monday - Friday) The Network Systems Administrator provides advanced technical support and maintenance to the IT systems by ensuring high availability, quality and security. As part of the infrastructure team, the Network Systems Administrator performs the network administration, system administration, cybersecurity, and level III support issues. This position works with their team to execute assigned projects, reporting project status, and communicating roadblocks and recovery plans to IT leadership. This role requires regular travel across Europe and Asia which will be planned well in advance so the successful candidate must be okay with travelling and staying away. Role Description: Maintains networking environment; participates in network installations and projects; defining, documenting, and enforcing network and security standards. Maximizes network performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages, monitoring performance; collaborates with the network team on network optimization. Maintains the network environment to include: SDWAN, switches, firewalls, remote access solutions, and broadband circuits. Delivers proactive and early notification of potential and actual issues impacting service delivery. Provide frequent communication to leadership during and post incident to include root cause and corrective action plans. Maintains and manages server infrastructure environment, cloud and on premise. Generates and maintains compliance reporting to support IT policy and cybersecurity best practices. Assists with advanced level maintenance actions including system back-ups, error log reviews, and integrity checks. Uses data collected from a variety of management tools (SEIM, network access control) to analyze events that occur within their environments for the purposes of mitigating threats. Continually assesses cybersecurity risks and works with IT leadership to resolve all findings. Serves as third level of escalation for any unresolved issues or requests. Develops processes and procedures around disaster recovery and disaster recovery testing. Takes accountability for assigned ticket requests throughout the life span of the support request and drives all tickets to completion within the established SLA. Documents work instructions, develops knowledge base, and reviews or improves support procedures and workflows. Promotes continuous improvement by taking the initiative to identify issues and provide appropriate solutions or process improvements. Provides global support when needed. Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in IT, or equivalent work experience in IT operations. Relevant professional certifications such as Microsoft MCSE, Microsoft Azure certifications, CompTIA (A, Network, Server, Security), Cisco networking or equivalent certifications, CISM, CISSP, and/or commensurate work experience and experience working in controlled IT environments. Minimum 5 years' experience in a Systems Administrator or Network Administrator role. Strong ability to install, upgrade and maintain computer/server hardware, network hardware and software. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems. Ability to work independently to gather requirements, evaluate solutions, build and communicate a plan to all relevant parties, including cost analysis, and execution of approved plans using internal and external resources. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices. Knowledge of GDPR and data protection principles. Experience working in a multisite, international environment. Knowledge/experience working in manufacturing sector.
