Finance Manager - Property and Procurement

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Property and Procurement finance team, supporting the strategy of our Boots UK Property and Procurement businesses. Procurement support £1.2bn of annual spend delivering c.£45m of annual savings. The Property portfolio consists of c.1800 stores and offices.
About the role
You will partner the Property and Procurement business units reporting to the Head of Finance, Property and Procurement, and will sit within the wider Operations business partnering team. You will support procurement c.60% of the time and will work closely with our FP&A team and you will hold direct relationships with the lead teams and their direct reports. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure and invaluable insight into two different segments of the business that have very current and strategic importance.
Key responsibilities:
* Partner the procurement lead team bringing financial rigour, advice and challenge to reported savings and metrics
* Provide financial due diligence on new or potentially risky vendors
* Review and challenge procurement papers and ensure DOA has been followed in line with group policy
* Be the voice of finance on any current or new procurement processes e.g. IT implementation, workflow changes, DOAs etc
* Partner relevant property teams with specific emphasis on the business development programme, modelling scenarios with relevant financial metrics e.g. IRR, NPV etc and supporting approval paper creation.
* Support Head of Finance with ad hoc requests and analysis in order to highlight key issues or drive potential change
* There has been and continues to be significant evolution of the property portfolio which will require constant support and interaction with multiple stakeholders across the functions
* Liaise closely with FP&A to ensure we have a clear understanding of monthly P&L and Capex performance
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
* Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, in order to inspire, effect change and drive successful processes and performance
* Ability to think strategically, review, and use analytical skills to understand the bigger picture whilst having good attention to detail
* Excellent Excel skills
It would be great if you also have
* Knowledge of TM1 reporting and SAP but not essential
* Previous experience of working in a business partnering or FP&A role
* Understanding of property accounting principles
