The Identity Manager role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the identity management service, ensuring that all users (whether they are staff, contractors, partners or customers) can be and have been correctly authenticated into the various areas of the corporate or partner networks. This is a service management and personnel leadership role with specific knowledge in Identity and Access Management from the user identity management and verification perspective. The role is responsible to the business for account identity assignments, modifications and removals; as required as part of an employee’s career journey through Computacenter. Furthermore, the role is responsible for ensuring that the appropriate checks are made when authenticating a user to ensure a secure environment but with the least impact to the user’s experience.

The successful candidate will be experienced in operational identity management with a proven track record of service delivery and team leadership.
This role requires a firm understanding of the principles of identity management but also requires the successful candidate to drive the user experience within the confines of operational security. The role will challenge the successful candidate with a balancing of two opposing requirements of transparent and easy access for the user alongside acceptable levels of security and compliance to ensure the company exposes the minimum of a breach capability footprint.
The GIS Workplace Identity Manager will report to the Head of Identity and Access Management and will form an essential element of the department delivering a secure and reliable working environment to Computacenter’s 20,000 users.
What you’ll do
1. Lead the delivery of the operational service to provide an Identity Lifecycle service to the business covering internal, external, guest and partner accounts.
2. Owning the identity security controls, including Conditional Access Policies, Multi-Factor Authentication, Passwordless and Biometric Authentication technologies
3. Liaising with Access Management teams to provide a complete IAM service
4. Provide subject matter expertise on identity framework integration including the use of Enterprise Application registration in EntraID for SSO and automated provisioning
5. Support the design of enterprise solutions to resolve complex problems
6. Onboarding solutions into existing IAM designs and plans
7. Agreeing work packages to be delivered by the team
8. Meeting our regulatory obligations by supporting, ISO 27001 internal and external audits, Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) compliance, Customer audits and presales questionnaires, Awareness of the differing expectations of Government/Military to Commercial audits
9. Line management of team, performing one-to-ones and annual reviews, manage workload, performance management,
10. Managing stakeholder expectations by meeting regularly with your line manager to discuss individual and team performances and workloads
11. Generate and deliver reports and presentations to convey ideas, risks and opportunities, best practices or status
12. Meet with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate work, gain or provide support, work collaboratively
13. Maintain systems and solutions by being accountable for our Identity Provider (IdP) systems and supporting applications and solutions
14. Manage change and maintenance of IdPs and supporting systems
15. Ensure an adequate BCP/DR solution is in place for our IdPs.
What you’ll need
16. Relevant experience in an IT Identity Management position.
17. Team leadership experience
18. Technical certifications in Microsoft technologies (AZ500, SC300, etc.)
19. Proven track record of work experience in a challenging commercial environment
20. Good working knowledge of relevant functional systems (EntraID, Active Directory)
21. Experience in dealing with and influencing multi-tier management
22. Experience of developing best practice policies and procedures for functional area
23. Highly motivated in self-learning and maintaining industry best practice awareness
24. People Management experience/Training
25. Managing a results-orientated operation
26. Hold SC Clearance or able to obtain
Desirable
27. Fully qualified in relevant professional qualification (CISM, CISSP, etc.)
28. Knowledge of information assurance standards and frameworks including CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials/Essentials Plus, GDPR.
29. Good presentation and moderation skills; professional and convincing manner of appearance and expression; clear, targeted communication (verbal and written).
30. Good organisational and time management skills
31. Competent user of ServiceNow
32. Member of a professional body (CIISec, BCS, etc)
33. Hold DV Clearance or able to obtain
