There has never been a better time to work for Torbay Council. We want to be a Council that works with its residents, communities and partnerships - a Council that listens, supports and empowers. We have a real momentum building and are committed to building trusted relationships and having continuing conversations. Can you help us on that journey?
We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and motivated individual to join our organisation, delivering a strategic partnership response to complex antisocial behaviour within Torbay. This is a new role within the Safer Communities Team, providing an opportunity for the successful candidate to shape delivery and work directly with our partners to improve the quality of life for our communities within Torbay.
Torbay Council has invested in its response to antisocial behaviour after listening to our residents and their concerns. This investment has increased the numbers of antisocial behaviour investigators and uniformed town centre officers, and the introduction of this role seeks to complement this work.
About the role:
Partnership working and stakeholder engagement is pivotal to this role, and you will be working closely with a variety of statutory and voluntary sector agencies, developing collaborative and collective commitment to work together and make change.
You will engage with partners to help develop a shared understanding of the nature and complex drivers of antisocial behaviour; and deliver a range of interventions and projects to address these.
The drivers of antisocial behaviour are multifaceted. You will be involved in delivering a variety of interventions which range from those focused on behavioural change to environmental improvements. This will include seeking lived experience and community input to influence activity and plans.
You will also be involved in working with Engagement and Communications colleagues to help raise awareness of the work taking place and the collective commitment to creating safer spaces.
What you’ll bring:
* A desire and ability to make a difference through partnership working.
* Good communication skills and the ability to quickly build productive relationships with partner agencies and a range of individuals and groups.
* A track record of successful delivery of projects, particularly those involving multiple stakeholders.
* You will be adaptable and diplomatic and able to manage conflicting demands.
* You will thrive in a constantly changing environment and be able to find innovative ways to solve problems and overcome blockers.
This post requires a Standard Criminal Level Check. This will show details of all spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions that have not been filtered in line with legislation.
