As a Senior Developer, you will Be part of the RuneTek core tech engine team working on our bespoke cross platform engine powered by modern C++ with a state of the art rendering engine using Vulkan and OpenGL. You will be working on the maintenance and development of core tech game libraries, with a heavy focus on rendering technology, along with research and development that helps drive our technology forward. What you'll be doing: Programming using C++/GLSL/Python and some Java, with modern C++ being the primary development language. Enhancing and maintaining our existing game engine technology and code libraries, which also includes areas such as networking, audio, input, file system, tools interoperability, maths libraries, threaded job systems, etc…) Maintain and develop a AAA threaded renderer powered by OpenGL and Vulkan with GLSL being the primary high level shading language. Develop new graphics features into a modern rendering engine. Assist in the upkeep of our cmake C++ build systems. Researching, innovating and developing new game engine technology Profile and monitor performance of our products at a high and low level and derive solutions to performance issues. This includes both CPU, GPU and memory performance issues. Make others better through code reviews, thorough documentation, technical guidance, and mentoring or serving as a technical lead on a project. Leading technical discussions and system design, owning small, medium and large features from technical design through to completion. What you'll need: Highly proficient C/C++ Experience with cross platform game engine development Have exposure to at least one high level shading language, but preferably GLSL Experience with multi-threaded programming (i.e. concurrency and parallelism) and multi-threaded job systems Previously worked on modern rendering engines with Vulkan or OpenGL. Knowledge with at least one modern low level rendering API (i.e. DX12 or Vulkan) Competent with Python and one of any C++ build systems Good knowledge of GPU architecture and modern GPU rendering pipelines Both high-level object-oriented programming experience, but also experience with data driven design for performance programming An excellent understanding of memory management, especially using C/C++ Strong performance programming experience, and familiarity with several modern CPU profiling tools Experience with GPU profiling tools such as Nsight and RenderDoc Both practical and theoretical experience with the rendering and physics of materials and lighting in a modern 3D game engine.
