Full job description Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting individuals with their daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while adhering to care plans. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as independently when necessary. Responsibilities Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support individuals with mobility and physical activities, ensuring safety at all times. Help maintain accurate care plans and document any changes in residents' conditions. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on care needs. Participate in the planning and implementation of recreational activities that promote engagement and well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment for all residents by following health and safety protocols. Drive to various locations if required for home care visits or other duties as assigned. Utilise IT systems for record-keeping and communication purposes. Experience Previous experience in a healthcare or care home setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Strong communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with residents and team members. A willingness to learn about individual care needs and adapt to changing circumstances is crucial. Experience with IT systems for documentation purposes is advantageous. A valid driving licence may be required for certain roles involving home care services.
