Assistant Farm Manager (Vegetable Farm) - East Anglia - £45,000 + Accommodation + Career Progression
The Company:

We're looking for a passionate and experienced Assistant Farm Manager or Senior Farm Operator to support their operations and help drive the farm's success.
The Job:
1. Assist the Farm Manager in daily operations, including planting, harvesting, and crop management
2. Oversee the maintenance of farm equipment and infrastructure
3. Monitor and ensure crop health through regular inspections, pest control, and soil management
4. Supervise and manage farm workers, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety protocols
5. Coordinate with suppliers, logistics teams, and customers to meet delivery schedules and market demands
6. Implement sustainable farming practices to enhance yield while maintaining environmental responsibility
7. Support in budgeting, record-keeping, and reporting on farm activities
8. Assist with the planning and rotation of crops to optimise farm production.
The Candidate:
1. Prior experience in farming, preferably in vegetable crop production
2. Strong understanding of agricultural practices, crop cycles, and soil management
3. Ability to manage and lead a team effectively
4. Proficiency in operating farm machinery and tools
5. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in agriculture
6. Flexibility to work longer hours during peak seasons
7. Valid driving license (tractor driving experience is a plus)
8. A degree in agriculture, horticulture, or related field
9. Experience with sustainable farming methods and practices
10. Familiarity with farm management software or technologies
The Package:
Competitive salary circa £45,000 DOE
