Role Purpose:
Specsavers are seeking a Head of Projects and Programmes for Transition State 2 (TS2) to join our Blended Experience Programme (BEP). This role is crucial in the overall leadership to ensure that the programme of work agreed within TS 2 is successfully delivered as per the agreed outcomes, timelines and budget.
The role will lead the coordination and interaction with key stakeholders, prioritise interactions with Group Functions and Regions, and work with the wider BEP Delivery team to ensure the successful delivery of TS2 programme activities.
The Blended Experience Programme will transform our capabilities to enable a seamless, blended experience (instore and online) empowering our customers to fulfil their needs via services that are convenient, consistent and personalised at scale across our global footprint. This is a complex programme which we have divided into a number of ‘Transition States’. ‘Transition States’ - are essentially the phases that we will need to go through when moving from where we are today, to where we want to be.
Your Role:
* Accountable for supporting the Director of Programmes – TS 2 in all aspects of delivery and working alongside the Director of Programmes – TS 1 to ensure a seamless progression to Transition State 2.
* Provide ownership, coordination and direction for TS 2 programme activity to ensure delivery of key outputs deliverables and realisation of programme outcomes.
* Lead the coordination and interaction with key stakeholders across the organisation so they are aware of the ‘joined up’ picture of the Programme so they understand and can plan for the change impact on their specific function or region.
* Prioritise and ensure the interactions with Group Functions and Regions are seamless and efficient; working with the TS2 Teams, Design Leads and Planners to ensure they are engaged in a coordinated, connected and visible way with absolute clarity on required milestones, outputs and activities.
* Manage the TS2 PMO and BEP Programme PMO to ensure governance, reporting, RAID, PMO processes and core programme disciplines are optimised.
* Proactively manage Risk across TS2 and put in place suitable mitigation in order to decrease risk to achieve the key milestones in the TS2 Programme Plan.
* Lead with ‘assertive diplomacy’ addressing and resolving conflicts where they arise, doing so by aligning to the Specsavers culture.
* Along with the Director of Programmes – TS2, provide coaching and support to build TS2 team skills, knowledge and competencies to perform effectively in their roles and to reach their full potential as individuals.
What you'll bring:
* A mindset and transformation delivery experience centred on both customers and store colleagues to ensure that changes enhance the overall customer experience.
* Familiarity with the retail industry, ideally including optometry operations, and an understanding of the challenges faced in both areas.
* Proven experience in coordinating and supporting the delivery of global business and technology programmes from design to operation.
* Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and teams within multi-disciplinary sub-programme environments.
* Expertise in managing complex, global stakeholder relationships effectively.
* Ability to bring clarity and direction within complex environments, working collaboratively with stakeholders to drive milestones and outputs.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage upwards, influence, and challenge appropriately.
* Experience in delivering and influencing organisational culture change to embed new practices.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and engage in meaningful dialogue with executives and key stakeholders.
* Ability to prioritise and manage multiple competing demands calmly and efficiently.
