Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a motivated, independent information professional to manage the delivery of CPFT's library services to the staff of Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. As our Library Lead for Norfolk Community, you will act as library lead and main point of contact for CPFT Libraries in their service delivery to NCHC staff.
Main duties of the job
Working with staff at our Fulbourn and Peterborough libraries, you will establish and deliver a comprehensive range of knowledge and evidence-based services that will meet the needs of a broadly spread community-based NHS Trust. This will include offering staff access to the resources and expertise of the existing libraries in Fulbourn and Peterborough as well as developing bespoke services to meet the needs of Norfolk-based staff both at a distance and in person. The post holder will support the Knowledge, Library and Information Manager in the development and delivery of the Library Strategy and the development of Norfolk-specific operational and implementation plans, as well as acting as the library's lead and point of contact for the management and administration of budget, resources, services, and statistics relating to Norfolk library services.
Job responsibilities
1. Lead on the development and implementation of evidence-based library services for the staff of Norfolk Community Health and Care Trust.
2. Manage library services in Norfolk, ranging from front-line duties such as document supply and literature searches up to determining service direction and liaising with NCHC leadership and executives.
3. Represent library services at exhibitions, promotional events, professional events, and board and leadership meetings with Norfolk Community Health and Care Trust.
4. Work with stakeholders across Norfolk Community Health and Care Trust to coordinate, develop, and direct the work of library services, and to shape that work to the needs to Norfolk Community Health and Care Trust.
5. Support research activities of Norfolk Community Health and Care Trust through the provision of literature searches, support with systematic reviews, copyright advice, and assistance with resources relating to publication.
6. Administer e-resource access for Norfolk Community staff, including administering Norfolk Athens accounts and liaising with library staff and resource vendors on issues of selection, provision, and access.
7. Conduct collection management and development for print and e-resources for Norfolk staff. Manage and spend an allocated budget for Norfolk-area resources.
8. Work with NHS libraries and other providers across the country to provide inter library loans for resources needed by Norfolk staff.
9. Represent CPFT library services in discussions and meetings with other Norfolk area library services.
10. Plan and conduct induction, training, promotion, and outreach visits to teams across and beyond Norfolk, both digitally and in person. Work with the Learning and Development, Organisational Development, and Medical Education staff of NCHC to create the best training and promotion for NCHCs needs.
11. Deliver Knowledge Management and Mobilisation services to Norfolk staff at every level from front line to executive, drawing from and expanding on the NHS Libraries Knowledge Management Toolkit.
12. Develop a web presence and accessible website either specifically for Norfolk Community staff or more broadly as part of a unified service website.
13. Manage the Quality Improvement Outcomes process for Norfolk Community library services, including the completion of the Quality Improvement Outcomes Framework.
14. Deputise for the Knowledge, Library, and Information Manager on any and all library management issues relating to NCHC or CPFT, including representing the library service for both organisations at regional and national meetings and other events.
15. Participate in regional and national decision making for NHS library services, including representing NCHC and CPFT library services in regional and national groups and committees, and working together with other Norfolk libraries on county-wide issues.
16. Where necessary, manage and supervise other library staff and participate in their appraisal and supervision processes.
17. Participate in the development, delivery, implementation, and evaluation of library services, taking ownership of and responsibility for any aspect of the strategy specific to Norfolk Community.
