Job Summary
Vermeer UK is seeking an energetic up-and-coming Utility Sales Specialist. The successful candidate will have drive, a hunger to succeed, a want to learn, and some knowledge in the horizontal directional drill industry.
This is a junior role that reports to the Senior Utility Sales Specialist. An ongoing training and mentorship program will be applied to this role.
This position may also appeal to a contractor who is or has provided HDD or Big Iron expertise and services and is looking to move away from an operator space. You must be self-motivated, well presented, customer focused with a strong desire to succeed and have the ability to manage a specific geographic territory which will require some travel across the UK.
Remuneration is by salary, generous uncapped commission and a company vehicle is provided. Other big company benefits come as standard and will be discussed with the candidates at interview.
Specific Duties Include
* Increase market share and profitability of the Vermeer range of Utility & Pipeline products.
* Alongside the Senior Utility Sales Specialist, develop relationships and network at all levels of the industry. Grow your knowledge of the market; where future work will be done, where it is currently being done and by whom. Be recognised as a solutions provider and a wealth of expertise for our customers.
* Create opportunities by evaluating customer fleets and techniques and industry best-practice, to proactively propose better solutions.
* Develop equipment packages and pre-qualify customers. Prepare and present professional proposals.
* Schedule and present technical presentations effectively.
* Communicate regularly with the senior team and other stakeholders to share information on activity within your scope.
* Regularly maintain CRM (Hubspot) database records to ensure that they accurately represent current opportunities, as well as contact information and correspondence with customers and prospects.
* Be an active and highly visible participant in industry groups and events and keep abreast of competitive activity and competitive products.
Requirements
* Some experience in horizontal directional drill market.
* Sales experience in the sector is an advantage, but experience and participation in the horizontal directional drill market is essential.
* Willing to put in the hard yards to reap substantial rewards.
* Possess good time management skills.
* Must be able to work independently and able to travel locally and internationally for work regularly.
* Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt your communication to different audiences.
* Passport and driving license.
