Job Brief: EWA CIC and RUDA CIC are both non-profit charitable organisations based in Birmingham and Black Country area and pride themselves on supporting nationals from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). We are seeking to employ a passionate and dedicated individual to join our ERAVI Project as the Education, Research & Advocacy Officer (part-time, 25 hours per week). This multifaceted role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by supporting CEE victims of violence.
We are looking for a candidate with:
● A passion for social justice and experience working with marginalised communities.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
● Experience in education, training, research, and/or advocacy.
● Strong analytical and data management skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Education & Awareness:
● Develop and deliver educational programmes on social justice issues for students and parents at the Romanian and Polish Supplementary Schools.
● Facilitate training and professional development for project staff.
● Prepare content for social media campaigns to raise awareness about the project and encourage reporting of hate crimes and other forms of exploitation.
● Assist in planning and delivering two themed community events per year.
Research & Reporting:
● Analyse data from recorded cases to inform research on CEE experiences of violence, exploitation, and discrimination.
● Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data and contribute to reports on project progress, case studies, and quarterly monitoring for project partners and funders.
● Ensure all relevant data and evidence is submitted for annual external evaluation.
Advocacy & Community Engagement:
● Foster increased cooperation between NGOs and local authorities by establishing a vibrant community hub.
● Liaise with academia, local authorities, West Midlands Police, and other stakeholders to inform effective responses from statutory bodies.
● Participate in networking and annual events with relevant stakeholders, including Polish and Romanian Embassies and/or Consulates.
● Ensure RUDA CIC is trained and registered as a Third-Party Reporting Centre (TPRC) for Hate Crime.
● Encourage greater involvement in reporting of hate crimes and other forms of exploitation by the community.
● Support in recording incidents of crime and exploitation for reporting purposes.
Mentoring & Support:
● Provide mentoring and support to those affected by violence, exploitation, and discrimination, including referrals to further support services if needed.
