What Are We Looking For?
Our Asset Management and Technical Services team is looking for a Project Manager to join the team in our office in Dewsbury. You’ll be responsible for the delivery of projects, or key elements within projects, and manage the performance of projects end-to-end. This will require supervision of operational sites and their delivery teams, including Project Engineers, Site Managers, Supervisors and Sub-Contractors.
Some of Your Key Duties of the Role Include:
1. Project liaison from enquiry stage to final acceptance and documentation. Meeting with clients to discuss specific requirements and carry out site surveys as required.
2. Management of the Project, Design & commercial team to oversee and guide the team to deliver projects safely, to the correct quality, on time and on budget.
3. Management of the on-site resources (site supervisors, commissioning engineers, Mechanical and electrical teams) together with the mechanical and electrical coordinators to ensure all staff is fully utilized and working efficiently and effectively.
4. Ensure all technical information is available when required for the delivery of design and/or construction.
5. Interpret and check drawings, specifications, and schedules for all activities. Directing works accordingly & preparing final documentation (As Built Drawings etc.).
6. Early identification and resolution of non-conformance within both the design and construction phase.
7. Procurement of goods and services.
8. Preparation of estimates and quotations.
9. Oversee the monthly commercial reporting with the commercial leads.
10. Liaison with clients to seek tendering opportunities.
11. Completion of contract documents.
12. Production of risk assessments and method statements.
13. Assist the development of other regional offices with opportunities to grow into a Delivery Manager role.
What Do You Need?
1. Qualification to degree / HND/ HNC level in Engineering or equivalent.
2. Experienced Manager with a proven track record of managing a portfolio of projects whilst also running projects themselves.
3. Demonstrate experience in managing NEC contracts.
4. Good time management, with the ability to multitask, plan and organise day-to-day workloads within a busy environment.
5. Good communication skills in both verbal and written communication with an ability to follow, interpret and explain technical instructions.
6. Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to all engineering trades, particularly Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering.
7. Be persuasive, encouraging and motivating and be able to elicit co-operation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients, and other departments.
8. Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work with, lead and motivate others, and be able to bring projects to successful completion.
9. Driven, with an ability to work individually and with teams under your direction.
10. Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
11. Water experience highly advantageous but other specialist engineering industries will be considered.
12. Full UK Driving Licence.
