Job Title:
Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer
Description:
We are seeking an experienced Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer to support the Astute and Dreadnought programmes, including resolution of emergent issues during build and commissioning of the Naval Reactor Plant.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deputising for the PNED Build Assurance Manager as Required
* Supporting or leading Nuclear Safety Engineering activities, including application of common Safety Engineering techniques
* Acting as the Intelligent Customer for documentation, advice, and services concerning the Naval Reactor Plant and safety case
* Developing sound technical solutions to issues arising during construction and commissioning
* Authoring inputs to the Office of the Chief Engineer advising on compliance with design, build, and commissioning requirements
* Liaising with internal and external customers to ensure their requirements are adequately supported
Your Skills and Experience:
* Degree level qualification in a relevant subject such as Engineering or Physical Science
* Understanding of reactor plant systems design, build, commissioning, and operation
* Demonstrable competence in technical report writing
Desirable Qualifications:
* Engineering experience in design and build of systems, including understanding of safety and quality
* Ability to lead engineering investigations and constructively challenge others
