Key Responsibilities:
✨ Provide Tailored Support: Offer 1:1 support to a child with specific learning needs, helping them access the curriculum in a way that suits their individual learning style.
✨ Promote Confidence: Encourage independence and build self-esteem by celebrating progress, no matter how big or small.
✨ Assist with Learning Tasks: Support the child in literacy, numeracy, and other subjects, adapting resources and methods to their level of understanding.
✨ Track and Report Progress: Work alongside the teacher to monitor the child’s progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
✨ Foster a Positive Relationship: Build trust and a strong, supportive relationship with the child, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
✨ Collaborate with Teachers and Parents: Share insights with the teacher about the child’s development and help communicate with parents about progress and any concerns.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: Prior experience working with children in an educational or care setting is ideal, but most importantly, a passion for helping children succeed is essential.
Patience & Empathy: You’ll need a patient and understanding approach, particularly when working with children who may face challenges with their learning or behavior.
Strong Communication: Clear communication skills to work with both the child and the teacher, providing regular updates and feedback.
Adaptability: Ability to adjust your approach based on the child’s needs and learning progress.
Qualifications: A teaching assistant qualification is beneficial, but we welcome candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
