Role Overview
Scottish Fine Soaps are seeking a dynamic and proactive Production Planner to join our team.
In this role you will be responsible for receiving, coordinating for planning the production of the portfolio of products along with our contract customer requirements. To ensure that all raw materials and packaging components are in place to coincide with the production plan and to meet the demands of the business and our customers.
Our mix of production requirements, including internal and contract manufacturing, means a dynamic environment with a mix of short, medium and long term production plans.
Role Responsibilities
As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for:
* Developing a production plan aligned with forecast demand and incoming customer orders, based on available capacity.
* Planning in-house production and liaising with third party contract fillers/packers
* Work on a mix of Long, Medium & Short term plans
* Production planning and scheduling so that there are clear production plans and master schedules to meet specifications, capacities sales and inventory targets
* Monitoring inventory levels to strike a balance between producing to demand and not holding excess inventory
* Providing reporting data to help to inform business decisions and review continuous improvement initiatives
* Work closely with production & Operations team to effectively deliver the product on time and in the most cost-effective manner
* Re-evaluate demand levels daily - proactively amending production schedules to react to demand and sales forecasts so as to optimise customer service
* Liaise with our contract customers to understand their demands and any impact on the production schedule
* Participate in daily tier meetings
* Ensure that stock levels across all SKU’s are maintained to meet the business demands and seasonality
* Ensure componentry, raw materials and consumables are aligned with demand levels.
* Ensure efficient supply chain of the above
* Help source new products & Components and new suppliers with the aim to improve prices and lead-times with jeopardising quality
* Manage our supply chain in accordance with our ISO quality system
* Manage and monitor the wider procurement team with the business
* Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels.
* To effectively manage ever changing priorities.
* To have a level of customer engagement as well as dealing with suppliers
* To be part of the in-house NPD team engaging with other departments.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven track record of manufacturing stock management processes
* Knowledge of Bill of Materials
* An ability to demonstrate a strong level of literacy and numeracy
* Ability to perform cost scenario analysis
* Understanding of project management is beneficial.
* Strong IT & Excel skills, including analysis of production data.

* Knowledge of Business Central & VPS advantageous although not essential.
