Job Overview
As our Technical Training & Embedment Lead, you’ll take a leading role in transforming how we work by designing and delivering world-class training, embedding best practices, and aligning our approach to industry-recognised frameworks like P3M3.
Working at the heart of our Capital Delivery Team, you’ll ensure our teams have the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to operate effectively — while also driving long-term cultural change. This is a hands-on, high-impact role with real visibility and influence, where you’ll work with stakeholders at every level, from project teams to the Executive Leadership Team.
Responsibilities will include:
Your work will cover four key areas:
1. Training Delivery & Management
1. Lead the creation and roll-out of engaging technical training programmes across systems and processes (P6, SAP, PIM, CEMAR etc.)
2. Develop a structured training strategy aligned with ongoing transformation goals
3. Deliver a blended mix of in-person, online, and self-serve learning tools and guides
4. Provide coaching and ongoing support to embed learning into everyday practice
2. Embedment & Continuous Improvement
5. Ensure new tools, systems, and methodologies are embedded into daily operations
6. Run post-training evaluations and collect feedback to drive ongoing improvements
7. Support wider change initiatives to ensure adoption and operational integration
3. P3M3 Alignment
8. Coordinate and support activities to align the Programme Controls Team with P3M3 standards
9. Prepare for maturity assessments and lead alignment initiatives across the team
4. Communication & Internal Branding
10. Create and deliver a communications plan to promote best practice, training opportunities, and team initiatives
11. Establish a strong internal brand that positions Programme Controls as a centre of excellence
12. Build strong relationships with stakeholders and be a go-to contact for all training and improvement-related activity
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings a powerful blend of experience, energy, and expertise. You’ll have a strong track record in designing and delivering impactful technical training within complex project or programme environments, along with a solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools such as P6, SAP, and CEMAR. You’ll also be confident in applying change management principles and familiar with maturity models like P3M3, including coordinating assessments and improvement initiatives. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to lead, coach, and inspire individuals at all levels of the organisation.
Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week.
Southern Water operate a hybrid approach to working between our Falmer office and home.
