ROLE TITLE: Grounds Maintenance Operative
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Delivering grounds maintenance and improvements
LOCATION: Redcar and Cleveland
SALARY: £11.50 per hour, or National Living Wage (21 and over) £12.21 per hour, 37 hours per week
The post holder will operate in local communities and will be able to communicate positively and effectively with local people, providing a professional and high-quality service. Under the direction of the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor, they will carry out practical ground maintenance tasks to enable achievement of the work programme, ensuring deadlines are met whilst maintaining quality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in implementing environmental improvements, horticultural activities, soft landscaping, and access maintenance tasks.
* Follow instructions and work within a team environment.
* Ensure that all projects are delivered to a high standard, on time, and within the agreed work programme.
* Maintain and safely operate tools, equipment, and vehicles, conducting regular checks and reporting any issues.
* Keep accurate records of working hours, completed tasks, and training undertaken.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure the well-being of colleagues, the public, and yourself.
What We’re Looking For:
* A genuine passion for outdoor work and the environment.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate positively with local communities.
* Punctual and hardworking with the capability to carry out manual outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
* Basic knowledge of horticulture, landscaping, or grounds maintenance (desirable but not essential).
* Willingness to undertake relevant training.
