An exciting new role within theLivewell Southwest Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). We havethe opportunity for a Mental Health Practitioner to work for 1 year in a pilotin the Young Peoples Substance Misuse Treatment Service in Plymouth.
We have the opportunity fora resilient,innovative, and motivated mental healthpractitioner who is passionate about improving the lives and mental health ofour young people, to work in a pilot with the young peoples substance misuseservice in Plymouth.

Main duties of the job
This role is to offer mental health assessment, Intervention and consultation to the young people accessing this service who present with a comorbid mental health presentation, you will provide a pathway between CAMHS and the young peoples substance misuse treatment service to ensure smooth transitions for this group of young people. The post will be located within team with The Childrens Society who will provide clinical supervision and support any training needs.They however will sit within CAMHS and will receive caseload/line management from CAMHS.
Please note this is a permanent post if this pilot is not funded past 2025 the applicant will be move to a vacancy in the wider CAMHS Service. We cannot say what part of the service, but you will have full time employment. We felt as a Service in these difficult times it would enable clinicians with an interest to apply knowing they have security of a permanent position at the end of the pilot but also the opportunity to work in a new exciting role.

Job responsibilities
This is an exciting new role beingdeveloped in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). A CAMHSMental health Practitioner that will specialise in working with Children andYoung People who present with substance misuse issues and co-morbid mentalhealth presentation within the Young People Substance Misuse Treatment ServiceIn Plymouth. They will be co-located within the Sharp Team. However, will beLine managed and caseload management within CAMHS and Clinical supervision inthe Substance Misuse Service
The post holder will provide.
Assessment
Psychological Interventions (this couldinclude Motivational Interviewing to help young people focus on strengths andfinding solutions. Training can be provided if needed).
They will provide 10 to 15 sessionsmonitored by using outcome measures and will work closely with all the pathwaysand enable the facilitation of CYP moving seamless around our pathways.

Our young people dont fit into boxes ormodels of therapeutic delivery we hope this new post we will attract the typeof clinician that will adapt to the young persons presentation using all theirskills. Enabling the CYP to come into The Young People Substance MisuseTreatment Service In Plymouth and back out again without need to access longerterm CAMHS interventions.
The successful applicant will also besupported to undertake additional therapeutic training depending on the skillsthey arrive in our service with.
This role will also undertake linemanagement and caseload management and supervision responsibilities for juniorstaff to support their development and the applicants development.
To work with children and young people who may presentmental health difficulties
Co-ordination and implementation of evidence-basedinterventions in a timely manner, in collaboration with the other clinicians acrossthe CAMHS Pathways.
The postholder will need to have anawareness, knowledge and understanding of therapeutic principles to informtheir practices and to support in providing interventions, outcomes so deliverybest outcomes for CYP.
Assessments and interventions will comeexternal to this post and from internal routes.
Providing 15 contacts with young peopleand families each week.
To support the delivery of evidence-basedgroup programmes for children and young people with mental health issues from aportfolio of available CAMHS training
Take a lead in representing CAMHS in multi-agencymeetings such as EHAT, SEND meetings or child protection meetings toco-ordinate and have oversight of mental health element of a multi-agency planaround a child.
To function as a member of the CAMHS Servicetaking appropriate responsibility for the implementation of decisions made bythe pathway.
Ensure planned interventions are implementedeffectively and evaluated using Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROMS)
Maintain standards of care to highestlevel within available resources.
To actively participate in linemanagement with senior and junior members of staff.
To liaise effectively with the otherCAMHS Pathways
To develop and maintain relationshipswith providers statutory and non-statutory.
To maintain confidentiality in respectof the young people at all times.
Communicate clearly with children andyoung people, their families and all other health professional groups abouttheir health problems.
Actively participate in clinicalgovernance and quality improvement initiatives, e.g. clinical audit, essence ofcare or clinical policy development.
Ensure that children and young peopleare encouraged to play a part in decision making about the help they need andhow they can access specific interventions.This is to promote person-centered planning.

* Post-registration experience of working with people with complex mental ill health within the community

* Experience of providing clinical supervision, mentoring and teaching to students and other health professionals.
* Previous experience of working at a Band 6 level or 2 years post registration experience
