Job Introduction
We are offering an Assistant Editor role substantively to work in BBC News Long Form Audio, editing and overseeing podcasts and radio shows.
Main Responsibilities
* Editing and overseeing the running of several podcasts and/or radio programmes.
* Generating creative ideas and encouraging the development of others’ ideas.
* Managing a team of producers working across multiple programmes.
* Working with on-air presenters to produce content and grow a programme.
* Collaborating with social media producers to develop the digital presence of the podcast or programme.
* Complying with content and supporting teams through complex editorial and legal issues.
* Acting as deputy to the Senior News Editor when required.

* Experience managing teams of producers.
* Proven track record of developing a positive working culture.
* Experience working with on-air presenters.
* Experience managing collabs internally and/or externally.
* Experience in news and current affairs.
* Experience growing and engaging new audiences.
* Experience managing budgets.
* Understanding of the podcast market and the BBC's Editorial Guidelines.
