We are seeking a dynamic Yard Assistant to join our equestrian team and contribute to the smooth running of our equine facilities. About the Role As a Yard Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of our equestrian operations, working closely with the Equine Yard Manager and Curriculum Manager. From daily horse care to supervising students and maintaining high welfare standards, every day will be an exciting opportunity to make a difference. You’ll also have the chance to be involved in commercial equine events, and public activities that promote our outstanding facilities. Key Responsibilities Perform daily horse care routines, including grooming, mucking out, and tack cleaning. Supervise and coach students to ensure safe and efficient horse husbandry practices. Organize and maintain equipment and facilities, including harrowing arenas and managing horse health records. Take a proactive role in horse schooling to ensure readiness for learners. Assist in the planning and execution of public equine events. What We’re Looking For The post holder must enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities. A broad knowledge of the equine industry and experience working with young people is a plus. Ideal candidates will have: A minimum Level 3 Horse Care qualification (or equivalent). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve high standards. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A BHS Stage 2 qualification (desirable but not essential).
