Benefits & Perks: Competitive hourly rate Professional development opportunities Friendly and supportive working environment Responsibilities: Provide a comprehensive legal service to the Chief Constables, officers, and staff of our client's organisation, as well as the Offices of the Police and Crime Commissioners Offer tactical and strategic advice on a wide range of legal issues Collaborate with the three teams within the Legal Services Department: Litigation, Operations, and Vulnerability Manage caseloads and provide proactive legal advice at a tactical and strategic level Handle contentious matters, including civil claims, employment tribunals, inquests, and judicial review applications Support operational cases, such as police officer misconduct cases, commercial and disclosure advice, and applications for legal proceedings Work on civil preventative orders, collaborating with partner agencies to obtain necessary orders Oversee the provision of general advice to officers and staff through the 'duty advice scheme' and review advice drafted by Paralegals Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience): LLB (Hons) degree to second standard, or another degree to upper second standard with commendation if CPE has been passed Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX Experience handling contentious matters Comprehensive knowledge of legal principles, legislation, case law, legal systems, and police law Ability to manage a diverse caseload and provide clear advice Strong communication skills, both written and verbal High attention to detail and research skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team IT literate with the ability to navigate specialist databases and systems Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience): Previous experience in a similar legal advisory role Demonstrated ability to think critically and adapt to changing circumstances Familiarity with relevant technologies and case management systems How to apply: If you are a qualified Legal Advisor with a passion for providing exceptional legal services, please submit your application, including your CV Note: Only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
