1.0 SUMMARY
The Field Service Technician will support DATA PHYSICS and TEAM Service Operations, assisting customers in the installation, training, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Electrodynamic Shaker & Amplifier systems supplied by Data Physics Corporation. The Field Service Technician will have the opportunity to work across many industries, cultures, and countries presenting technical solutions.
2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Customer-facing role with excellent and timely communication skills
2. Perform emergency on-site equipment repair, troubleshooting, new system installation, and annual preventative maintenance and calibration on all Data Physics equipment.
3. Accurately complete field service reports.
4. Requires up to sixteen (16) days of travel per month (50% travel, domestic and international) for customer support. A current and valid passport is required for international travel, along with the ability to pass background security clearances for U.S. Government sites.
5. Provide installations & technical training on new Electrodynamic Shaker Systems.
6. Provide Preventative Maintenance to existing customers.
7. Ability to scope out repairs and identify needed materials.
8. Ability to read electronic & electrical schematics down to component levels.
9. Ability to work around high voltage AC & DC power.
10. Must be mechanically inclined with a strong understanding of electronics & mechanical assembly, diagnostics, and repair.
3.0 SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS
1. Strong customer-facing skills, especially regarding verbal and written communications.
2. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
3. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
4. Comprehend engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
5. Ability to evaluate PCBA schematics and layouts and determine the best troubleshooting techniques.
6. Knowledge of Electrical & Electronics.
7. Proficiency in diagnosing/troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems and assemblies down to the component level.
8. Proficient in the use and operation of equipment such as oscilloscopes, schematics, and electronic & electrical circuits.
9. Experience in the operation, repair & maintenance of Electrodynamic Shakers & Amplifiers.
4.0 EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associate degree or equivalent in Electronics – 6 months to 1 year in related experience and/or training in troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment, electronic components & electromechanical systems.
2. Must Have: Equipment repair, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office.
3. Nice to Have: Schematics, Associate's degree.

* Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Required)
Pay: From £20.43 per hour.
