CUH is looking for reliable and hardworking individuals to join the Procurement Team to support as Distribution Assistants.
The Distribution Team are responsible for the correct and accurate delivery of orders to the corresponding location point. You will assist the distribution Team Leader and Procurement Goods-In Supervisor in providing an efficient delivery / collection service to all Clinical and Administrative areas of the hospital.
We are particularly interested in those candidates that have a B1 option on the driving licence as the role will involve some use of Luton vans and the use of electric motorised tugs, other powered and non-powered moving equipment. You will be required to take part in duties that require moderate to heavy manual handling activities that will include the pushing and pulling of heavy trolleys and cages throughout the working day.
This role is generally Monday - Friday, covering an 8:00 - 18:00 service however, we run a 24/7 service and you may be required to change times to suit the service needs and demands. You will be required to work around a Rota covering a range of three shift patterns.
Those interested only interested in a Bank position will also be considered.
This is a very important role within the Trust and you will be providing a key service to the Trust, so that the rest of the staff can continue to provide the patient care.
Please see below some of the key duties and responsibilities:
• Correct and accurate delivery of orders to the corresponding location point.
• Keeping the zones and the PGI area cleared and organised is essential. Health and Safety is also essential and must be followed at all times.
• Learning to drive an Electric Vehicle called a tug, this is to enable the delivery of goods in cages and the linen for the Trust. Linen needs to be done every day first thing in the morning by all team members then on a rota system for the afternoons, weekends and all Bank Holidays.
• This is very much a manual handling post with the daily moving of cages and larger, heavy items onto a flatbed for delivery. This is a very important role within the Trust and you will be providing a key service to the Trust, so that the rest of the staff can continue to provide the patient care.
Shift Pattern falls into the following:
Pattern 1 – 07:00 to 15:00 – Sunday to Thursday
Pattern 2 – 07:00 to 15:00 – Tuesday to Saturday
If you prefer to work weekends as standard with 2 weekdays off (Monday / Tuesday off or Thursday / Friday), this is available.
Bank Holidays are classified as normal working days.
All shift patterns are subject to change, with adequate notice offered.
