Post: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Responsible to: Assistant Headteacher
Purpose and Key Responsibilities
It is expected that the HLTA will teach and have whole class responsibility to cover PPA, and other release time. They will need to be adaptable and communicate clearly and effectively with the whole team, as they will be deployed across the whole primary age-range.

• able to deliver creative and challenging learning activities.
• able to deliver lessons that focus on key knowledge and uses retrieval practices.

• able to summarise and feedback achievements made during lessons.
• a confident communicator with their pupils, colleagues and parent/carers.
• able to support the creation of the best possible learning environments and deliver stimulating, engaging lessons using relevant pedagogy where all pupils can thrive, are challenged in learn.
• experienced at supporting children to reach high standards by providing appropriate challenge and consistency.
• able to communicate effectively.
• able to contribute to a team.
• keen to develop a positive well-being for all pupils.
• passionate for improving the life-chances for all children and value inclusion.
• interested in research informed practice and their own professional development.
• able to embed our ‘Work Hard. Be Kind’ mantra into their everyday practice and embodies an ethos of excellence in everything they do.
Relevant qualifications
• 5+ A*-C including English and Math’s or equivalent.
• Level 4 Teaching Assistant Qualification or higher.
