As Bid Manager, you will support the BD team in developing bids and securing funding, with the opportunity to support proposal production or commercial sales.
In this role, you will manage and coordinate bids through the bid process from call opening to bid submission.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Controlling overall production of the bid volumes to ensure delivery on schedule.
* Ensuring bid execution according to bid PA/QA philosophy; conducting bid/no bid reviews and later stage bid reviews (e.g., gold/red team) as appropriate, and conducting win-theme analysis.
* Controlling bid finances, working with the finance team and external partners on multi-partner/consortium-style assignments to manage finances.
* Supporting the development of inputs to ESA ministerial and collaborating with other teams on programme financial estimation.
* Leading the development of member state pitch forms, working with the business analysis team as needed.
* Supporting the creation of further bid processes and their integration into the sales pipeline process.
* Keeping track of bid opportunities including sources such as ESA, EU, UKSA and making propositions as to what future projects fit which opportunities.
* Supporting the business analysis team to evolve customer and competitor analyses.
Experience required:
* Educated to BSc or equivalent in engineering.
* Experience in bid management in the space industry, ideally with experience of the full lifecycle of UKSA and ESA bids (e.g., ARTES, GSTP, ITTs, UKSA SST programme).
* Experience working on bids of various sizes, from 1 to 2-page propositions for expressions of interest, small R&D bids, to larger mission/service proposals of hundreds of pages.
* Experience delivering/compiling all key volumes for bids: technical, commercial, financial, implementation, management, contractual, and risk.
* An understanding of the ESA ecosystem and bidding into ESA calls.
