Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer
Contract Hybrid Day rate: £450 - £525 inside IR35
We're currently seeking an experienced and ambitious Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer to work with our exceptional client, a world-class brand in a secure environment to support major challenging and highly rewarding projects across this complex organisation.
These contract roles will require you to conduct security clearance prior to assignment. Opportunities are available in London, Cheltenham, or Manchester.
The Windows Azure Virtual Desktop engineer and/or Citrix engineer will join our client's engineering team. The team is responsible for the support, innovation, design, and transformation of the remote desktop service, cloud, and SAAS services.
Most important is a problem-solving mentality and a desire to use your skills and mentor your team with an inquisitive mind.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assessment and Development: Evaluate organisational needs and pioneer the development of technical solutions.
2. Training and Evaluation: Identify and assess training needs and evaluate the effectiveness of training.
3. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient device management across the department.
4. Review existing content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and alignment with Windows best practices.
Required Technical Skills:
1. Strong experience of VDI solutions, preferably Azure Virtual Desktop with Nerdio tooling and/or Citrix.
2. Strong experience of Azure cloud, particularly Entra, Networking, Azure Firewall, DNS.
3. Knowledge and experience of CI/CD pipelines, ideally using Azure DevOps.
4. Experience in deployment of cloud infrastructure through IaC, preferably Terraform.
5. Strong scripting knowledge and experience, especially PowerShell.
6. Knowledge of Intune MDM, particularly configuration profiles.
7. Experience with RSAT tooling, particularly Active Directory and GPO.
8. Troubleshooting and diagnostics skills.
Desirable Skills:
1. Ability to write architecture and design documentation.
2. Experience of application deployment and package management solutions.
