Senior Accountant
Location: South Manchester
About the Role: We are representing a well-established accountancy practice in South Manchester seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced accountants aiming to advance their careers in a supportive and client-focused environment.
Duties:
1. Client Portfolio Management: Oversee a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of accounting services.
2. Financial Reporting: Prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts, and financial statements in compliance with UK accounting standards.
3. Taxation: Manage corporation tax computations, VAT returns, and personal tax matters, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
4. Software Utilisation: Leverage accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
5. Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
6. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices to improve service delivery.
About You:
1. Qualifications: ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent, with a strong understanding of UK accounting principles and tax regulations.
2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years in an accountancy practice environment, demonstrating proficiency in managing client relationships and delivering comprehensive accounting services.
3. Technical Skills: Proficient in using accounting software, particularly Xero, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
4. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to clients.
5. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
6. Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Competitive Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
